Pair of Top-5 finishes in LA State Championships at Boothill

Hopping behind the wheel of his Healthcare Express No. 5 Crate Late Model, Jon Mitchell invaded Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) on Friday night for the 48th annual Louisiana Dirt Track State Championships. In a field of 33 cars, Mitchell passed four cars in his heat race to pick up the 8-lap victory. Starting the $1,000-to-win A-Main in third, Jon slipped up one spot in the 20-lapper to place fourth behind Jamie Burford, Tyler Stevens, and Kevin Sitton with Morgan Bagley coming in fifth.

With the Top 6 finishers in the feature on Friday night getting locked into a redraw for the finale on Saturday, Mitchell pulled the two. With $2,000 on the line, Jon held his spot for all 40 laps to register a runner-up finish behind Morgan Bagley with Rob Litton, Tyler Stevens, and Jamie Burford rounding out the Top-5.
