August 27th Race Recap. STSS Cajun Modifieds Next on September 10th

GREENWOOD, LA. - Saturday was a magnificent night of racing at Boothill Speedway for the Advanced Powder Coating Weekly Racing Series!

The Hill had an all-time record car count for the Sportsters division, which was won by Longview, Texas resident Chris Weatherford! Teammates Brittany Graham and Mike Hurst completed the podium.

The Granger Equipment Factory Stocks put on a fabulous race, where Kyle Cummings, of Minden parked it in ABC Auto parts Victory Lane! Justin Whitehead ran a close 2nd with Bo Perry in 3rd. Cody Myers and Ricky Ingalls completed the Top 5 in the star-studded field!

The LED 4 Life Limited Modifieds were dominated by Racin’ Jason Ingalls from Longview, Texas, notching his first win in the division at Boothill this season. Coty Tupper and JD Ammons completed solid performances against some of the best in the area. Defending track champion, Colby Mewborn was 4th just ahead of Bailey Dosser.

David Winslett, of Bossier City, secured the win with the Frazier Accounting, Crate Late Models. “We’ve been good everywhere we’ve been this year,” said the confident veteran racer after notching his 7th win on the season! Garrett Gibson and Austin DuPont moved forward to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Humphrey Racing picked up another ProMod win as Haughton resident Trent Humphrey wheeled his 515 back to the winner’s circle in a flag-to-flag feature! Mike Washburn, Jeff Rice, Ryan Humphrey, and BJ Cook capped off the Top 5.

Lastly, the race of the night was run by the FWD 4-Cylinders, and it was none other than Jack DuPont, of Shreveport picking up his 14th win of the year with a late restart charge! During a long green flag run, Jack had been running 3rd but gaining ground on the top two cars as the laps wound down. When a late-race caution was thrown, it opened the door for Jack to knock off his friend Hunter Armstrong for 2nd and eventually take over the race lead from his cousin Luke DuPont with a lap and a half to go! In ABC Auto Parts victory lane, DuPont said, “I saw him leave some space, so I took it!”

Boothill will roar back to life in two weekends, September 10th, to host the Short Track Super Series Cajun Region Northeast-Style Modifieds! Don’t miss it!
